Lavina’s Legacy

Lavina’s Legacy: The New Face of Volunteering at Celtic Harmony

2024 is the year to Get Involved! With thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery players we have launched Lavina’s Legacy: Skills from the Past for the Future.

This is an initiative all about community engagement and the promotion of volunteering for wellbeing.

Lavina’s Legacy is named in honour of a beloved Educator and volunteer Joyce, whose Celtic name when leading school groups was Lavina.

There are a number of programmes to Get Involved in, from Woodland Workshops, to Family Volunteer Saturdays, Education Traineeships and more!

About Joyce

Lavina’s Legacy celebrates Joyce who dedicated many years to volunteering at Celtic Harmony Camp. Joyce contributed enormously to the development of the project and Lavina’s Legacy has been created in order to preserve her legacy for the benefit of the local community and future generations.

“Joyce was bubbly, caring, knowledgeable and passionate. She was fun to be around and would help anyone with anything they needed. She was an all-round lovely person. She is deeply missed but her spirit lives on through the work we do here.” Ben Mardle, Deputy Site Manager 2024.
