The Iron Age Farmstead Exhibition
Discover everyday life in Iron Age Britain
Step into the world of Iron Age Britain and discover what life was like in an Iron Age farmstead.
Our new Iron Age Farmstead exhibition explores the people, places and everyday objects that shaped life in Britain over 2,000 years ago. Discover how Iron Age communities lived, worked and interacted with the landscape around them, from farming and food production to craft and domestic life.
Through a fascinating collection of archaeological artefacts, loaned to us by the Verulamium Museum, the exhibition revives the everyday life of the Iron Age. Explore objects that people used in their homes and daily lives, discover the skills and technologies they developed, and consider what the evidence can tell us about the communities who lived during this time.

The Iron Age Farmstead is part of Celtic Harmony’s Seeing Nature, Shaping Culture: Art and Identity in Prehistory project, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The Iron Age Farmstead exhibition will be opening from the 24th October 2026 until summer 2027! Come and explore the exhibition and discover a different perspective on the people and communities who shaped Britain’s prehistoric past.

The backdrops and exhibitions have encouraged me to teach this period in more depth and detail. I feel much more confident teaching this period in the future.
It was a jaw dropping moment for the children! The hands on experience always sticks in childrens’ minds.
