General Manager

Busy Outdoor Centre Celtic Harmony Camp near Hertford is seeking a General Manager to oversee our operations and drive the success of our events for schools, public corporate and community groups. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organisational abilities, and a proven track record in leisure tourism and sales management. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our busy events program meets its sales targets while providing an outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of operations, including The Woodland Bistro and Brickendon Disc Golf, ensuring efficient processes and high standards of service.
  • Supervise and motivate staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue goals.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability.
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising, presentation, and cleanliness throughout the store.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff members, providing constructive feedback and support for development.
  • Prepare reports on sales performance, inventory management, and staff productivity for upper management review.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as company policies.

Working pattern : full time 40 hours per week on a monthly rota with some weekends.

The ideal candidate will:
  • 3-5 years in in events and leisure management essential.
  • Ability to organize time and prioritise activities.
  • Able to work in a pressured environment.
  • Flexible and able to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Wanting to exceed targets and progress within the organisation
  • Own transport as Celtic Harmony Camp is in a rural area

Location: Celtic Harmony Camp, Brickendon Hertford, SG138NY.

Remuneration: £37,000 – £45,000 per annum

Start Date: August 2025
