Junior Education Officer

Why we need you: We are looking for a new Junior Education Officer to support our education team and assist with activities and customer service  on our innovative education and events programme for school groups and visitors at Celtic Harmony Camp, the Prehistory settlement, near Hertford.

The primary role of this post is to plan and lead activities, developing of new visitor experiences and communicate proactively across the team to ensure effective delivery of Celtic Harmony Camp’s Prehistory Day & Overnight Experiences for schools, family visitors and volunteers. 

Celtic Harmony Camp is an award-winning venue,with its thatched roundhouses and native woodland. For twenty five years, children and visitors have been rediscovering the natural world and traditions of life in ancient Britain through creative hands-on activities and outdoor activities that engage the imagination and improve well-being.  Our active visitor experiences are designed to bring people together, creating a sense of belonging to our local natural and cultural heritage and building confidence through new skills and the visual results of practical work. We hold the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge for high quality outdoor experiences, as a safe and stimulating setting aiming to improve wellbeing and resilience.

The Junior Education Officer provides engaging Prehistory experiences, dressed in costume, assists with food service in the Bistro, site maintenance and communication.

The ideal candidate will:
  • have a minimum of 2 years continuous experience in outdoor education
  • be interested in primitive skills and ancient culture.
  • have an enthusiasm to develop a career in the field of outdoor heritage education
  • be a good team player.
  • own car due to the rural location of the site.
