Do you have an interest in Prehistory? Are you wondering what it’s like to work in outdoor education?

The Volunteer Education Traineeship gives participants the opportunity to gain outdoor education experience at Celtic Harmony Camp.

  • You will have a logbook and will observe, assist and be observed leading a range of activities from different Stone to Iron Age formal education days.
  • Trainees will be briefed on risk assessments, operations procedures, lesson plans and scripts before shadowing an educator.
  • You will gain primitive skills, such as friction fire lighting and flint knapping and work with a friendly and passionate team.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Have an interest in outdoor education/ heritage/ working outdoors
  • Have an enthusiasm to develop a career in the field of outdoor heritage education
  • Be a good team player
  • Have access to a car due to the rural location of the site

No experience necessary, just enthusiasm for Prehistory and education!

Coming from a performance background, I love the fact that I’m able to transfer my skills into an educational setting.
