Celtic Harmony Camp wins VisitEngland ‘Hidden Gem’ Award

Hertford attraction Celtic Harmony Camp wins VisitEngland ‘Hidden Gem’ Award

We have been awarded the VisitEngland ‘Hidden Gem’ Accolade after being shortlisted for the prestigious award following the high levels of excellence we achieved at a quality assurance assessment.

With our seven thatched roundhouses and native woodland, our Celtic Harmony Camp in Brickendon, near Hertford is the largest reconstructed Iron Age village in England. Children and visitors can rediscover the natural world and traditions of life in ancient Britain through hands-on activities and immersive events that engage the imagination and improve wellbeing.

We host educational trips during the school terms and then open our doors to a range of activities and events during the weekends and school holidays. We have just launched our first Christmas events programme that includes a woodland Elf Quest, Festive Family Days out, Wreathmaking workshops and even the opportunity to enjoy a festive feast in a reconstructed Iron Age Roundhouse!

The VisitEngland assessment took place in mid-August at one of our ‘Rewild your Summer’ family events where their team of assessors evaluated every aspect of the experience from arrival to catering, activities to staff, retail to toilet facilities. We achieved a highly commended overall score of 89%. Nominations for the Accolade are based on the standards achieved in this VisitEngland quality assessment, the observations of the assessor, customer feedback direct to VisitEngland and online customer reviews.

Our Founders of Celtic Harmony Camp, Clare Holt-Parrella, CEO, and Luca Parella, Managing Director, attended an awards event on Wednesday 12 November where we accepted the award as one of only 14 attractions across England to receive the accolade.

Upon receiving the award, Clare Holt-Parella, CEO said:

“We are absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to be recognised by VisitEngland with the ‘Hidden Gem’ award. This achievement is a true reflection of the dedication and enthusiasm of our incredible team and the unforgettable experiences we deliver every day.”

Luca Parella, Managing Director added:

“We continually strive to uphold the highest standards, and I’m very proud that our efforts have been recognised with this prestigious accolade. This is inspiring to us as we look forward to welcoming visitors to our first-ever Christmas events and activities programme at Celtic Harmony Camp.”
